Duqm Refinery (Package 1-3)

Duqm Refinery and Petrochemical Industries Company L.L.C is a Joint Venture (JV) between OQ and Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI). Duqm Refinery, based in Al Duqm located in the South East Al Wusta Governorate of the Sultanate of Oman. it will have the capacity to process around 230,000 barrels of crude oil per day. Diesel, jet fuel, naphtha and LPG.

FEWA # E21 Contract

Project Description

The Federal Electricity and Water Authority (FEWA) has approved a number of projects in the northern emirates at a total coast of AED 172mn. The projects will strengthen the power transmission and distribution network in the Northern Emirates.

The approvals were given at a meeting of the board of directors of FEWA chaired by the Minister of Energy HE Mohammed Bin Dhaen Al Hamili.

The projects include supply, installation, testing, selection and delivery of overhead lines of 132 kV and 33 kV in Masafi, northern, eastern, western and central regions, in addition to new power transmission stations (33/11KV) in Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Dibba and Fujairah.

Bahrain International Circuit Track lighting project

Project Description

The Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) was established in 2004 in Sakhir, Bahrain with total construction cost of BHD 56.2 Million ($ 150.00 Million).

The Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) consists of Grand Prix Track with 5.412 KM distance, Inner Track with 2.55 km distance, Outer Track with 3.664 KM distance, Paddock Circuit with 3.7 km distance, Drag Strip with 1.2 km distance and Oval Track with 2 km distance. A number of high profile series, including the FIA Formula One World Championship, the FIA World Endurance Championship, the Australian V8 Supercar Championship series, the GP2 series, GP2 Asia, Chevrolet Lumina Series, Speed car series, Thunder Arabia and Radical.

Ministry of Public Works (MPW) executed track lighting project, which was managed by Special Projects office at MPW. The work was undertaken on a fast track basis in readiness to host the Grand Prix race at night to mark the tenth anniversary of the Bahrain Formula One that was held on 06 April 2014. The main contractor of this project is Cebarco and the specialist lighting sub-contractor is Musco lighting. The consultant is Tilke Gmbh and the Quantity Surveyors are HAJ. The projects featured around 490 poles ranging in height from 10 to 45 meters, connected by over 500km of cabling with twenty new substation housing the switch gears and generators. Other improvements include upgrades to the existing spectator and vending area lighting as well as installation of new effect lighting to enhance and support the visual spectacle of night-time racing.

Liwa Plastics Project (Package 1-4)

Salalah Ammonia Project

Bapco Modernization Program

Currently Bapco operates a Refinery complex located in the East of Bahrain on the Arabian Gulf coast, to the south of Sitra Island and approximately 10km south of Manama.
The Bapco Modernization Program (BMP) represents a major expansion and upgrade of the facility that will allow the total Refinery throughput to increase up to a maximum of 380 thousand barrels per day.

New West Kuwait Mega Complex

The project consists of commercial complex with three guard houses, a mosque and a 3 story office building and will have a 26,567 sqm built area.

Rayyan Village

Project Description

ABB had won an order worth around $140m from Kahramaa, the Qatar General Electricity and Water corporation, which is the sole electricity and water transmission and distribution company in Qatar.

ABB has built four new transmission substations for the company and upgrade four existing substations to help meet the growing residential and commercial demand for electricity in the region, in particular the new Al Rayyan village development and other suburbs in and around the greater Doha area.

The company designed, supplied, installed and commissions the four new 66/11kV gas-insulated switchgear substations as part of a turnkey contract that also includes key products like shunt reactors, transformers, medium-voltage switchgear and cables.

The substations were equipped with ABB automation systems as well as protection and control products compliant with the IEC 61850 global substation communications standard. In addition, the company upgraded four existing transmission substations to help strengthen the power network and enhance grid reliability.

The project was completed by the end of 2012.

Ruwais Housing Complex Expansion – Phase -3

Project A 3900- Expansion and Reinforcement

Project A 3900- Expansion and reinforcement of 33KV network in al-ain –

Constructing of 7 new primaries ( 33 /11 KV ) substations in different locations in al-ain, a project from Al Ain Distribution Company (AADC being executed by Larsen & Taubro –UAE Division. It is one of the single largest substation contract awarded by AADC.

Project involved Design and Build these 33/11 kV primary substations to the specifications of the international consultant PB Power.

Each substation consists of 33 kV gas insulated switchgear, 11 kV air insulated switchgear, 15/20 MVA 33/11 kV transformers, Substation Control and Monitoring System, Protection and telecommunication system, DC system and auxiliaries. The contract encompasses design and construction of civil buildings with complete set of utilities such as air conditioning, fire protection and lighting systems.

Deerfield Town Square-Mall

Project Description

Deerfields Townsquare, a new mall built at a cost of Dh 700 million on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi city in Al Bahia.

The mall is expected to provide a boost to one of the emirate’s less developed and less affluent areas. Until now, the area’s retail offering has been limited to petrol station service shops and some small grocery and convenience stores.

Officials hope to service the catchment area of the mall, which includes 150,000 people living nearby, as well as some of the 500,000 cars that pass by on the Dubai-to-Abu Dhabi highway every week.

There are 180 stores in all, at the mall, spread across three floors, while the garden level is reserved for casual dining. Parking space for up to 3,000 cars and are targeting Al Bahia, Shahama, Al Rahba, Al Reef, Khalifa City A & B, Al Raha Gardens and Al Raha Beach as our catchment areas where the total population is about 150,000 and expected to rise to 200,000 over the next five years.

Al Ghayathi Housing Project

Project Description

Al Ghayathi Housing Project, 786 villas project in western region, Abudhabi.

The first sector consists of 433 residential units and is executed by Al-Dhabi Contracting Establishment, while the second sector which consists of 353 residential units is executed by National Transport & Construction Company.

Musanada is responsible for implementing the project’s infrastructure, as well as overseeing the delivery of the scheme.

It covers an area of about 420 hectares and will consist of 786 two-storey, five-bedroom villas with external service quarters and majlis, each with an approximate area of 537 square metres.

Jebel Ali Refinery Expansion

Project Description

Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) is expanding its Jebel Ali refinery in order to increase its capacity by 50%. The main package of the expansion project includes a new condensate processing train, which will increase the capacity from the current 140,000 barrels per day (bpd) to 210,000bpd. The expansion plan will add 12 new storage tanks to facilitate the storage of jet fuel and naphtha, along with gasoline blend stocks.

The Petroleum Institute

The Petroleum Institute University and Research Center (PI) was established in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates in 2001 with a goal of becoming a world-class institution in both engineering education and energy industry research. PI currently has 1200 undergraduate and graduate students, 200 faculty, and has quickly become a leading teaching and research institution in the Middle East region. The PI’s sponsors and affiliates include the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and four major international oil companies that include BP, Japan Oil Development Company, Shell and Total. The campus has modern instructional laboratories and classroom facilities, and will soon host a major research center, the PI Research Center (PIRC) scheduled to open in 2014.

Al Marasy Development

The Pearl Qatar

The name “The Pearl” was chosen because the island is being built on one of Qatar’s previous major pearl diving sites. Qatar was one of the major pearl traders of Asia before the Japanese introduced cheaper more affordable pearls just before Qatar’s oil boom. The Pearl Qatar will help represent Qatar’s rich past in the pearl industry. Once completed The Pearl will resemble a string of pearls.

(TPQ) in Doha, Qatar, is an artificial island spanning nearly four million square metres. It is the first land in Qatar to be available for freehold ownership by foreign nationals As of spring 2012, there are more than 5,000 residents compared to more than 3,000 residents in spring of 2011

The Pearl is created over 32 kilometers of new coastline, for use as a residential estate with an 15,000 dwellings and 45,000 residents . Developed by United Development Company and planned by architecture and design firm Callison, the island is located 350 metres offshore of Doha’s West Bay Lagoon area.

In 2004, when the project was first revealed, the initial cost of constructing the island stood at $2.5 billion. It is now believed the project will cost $15 billion.

Qatar National Museum

The interlocking disc design by Jean Nouvel is inspired by the desert rose. The space is a thriving hub for the public, students, and museum professionals. It redefines the role of a cultural institution, fostering a spirit of participation and providing the conditions for discovery to thrive. Beyond galleries, it provides:

– a dedicated food forum, preserving culinary traditions

– a park filled with indigenous plants

It is built around Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al-Thani’s original palace – his family home and seat of the government for 25 years. To celebrate his life, we recently held an exhibition at QM Gallery, Katara. Featuring historic artifacts, photographs, oral history interviews, and original films, it presented new insights and illustrated his legacy.

Wedding Hall Complex - Al Rafaa

The project involves construction of a wedding hall complex spread over an area of 260, 000 square meters consist of 5 banquet halls that can accommodate 500 guests each. The project will also include special storage and changing rooms, garden and large parking areas.

Project Value of First Phase-US$60 Million (Q.R 0.21 Billion)

In order to reduce the soaring costs of weddings for young unmarried Qataris, the Qatari government has issued directives to build several wedding halls in the country, which will open to Qataris free of charge.

The wedding halls will come up in various parts of Qatar. The directives were issued by the Heir Apparent H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to the State’s Special Engineering Office. The first wedding hall complex draws inspiration from the Qatari heritage, and is likely to come up in Al Rafaa area within next two months. It will be complete by 2014.The project, supervised by the Engineering office, will have five halls, with capacity to accommodate atleast 500 people each. The halls will be so designed to permit merging of the five halls into a large one, with capacity for 2500 people. The halls will be equipped with latest audio-visual technologies, and highest safety measures. A 260,000sqm plot has already been allocated for the purpose. The area will comprise buildings and amenities in 15,000sqm of space, apart from open areas, large car parking space, and five gates.

Polysilicon Plant Project of QSTec

The plant involves the establishment of 4,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) of polysilicon manufacturing capacity. The total envisaged capacity of the plant is 8,000 TPA of high-purity solar grade polysilicon at an investment of USD 1 billion.

QSTec will produce high quality polysilicon for the world solar energy markets. Polysilicon production is at the beginning of the PV solar industry value chain and is then converted into ingots, wafers, cells, modules and then finally solar energy and solar products. QSTec’s polysilicon enables solar power and in doing so helps reduce greenhouse emissions and protect the environment for generations to come.

Qatar North Road Project

Project comprises construction and 400 days maintenance of two separate road sections as described here below :

Contract 2 Section (Km : 4 +000 – Km : 37 +000):
Contract 2 Section starts at Duhail, passing through sub-urban and rural areas to the North of Doha City, namely Duhail, Kheesa, Khuraitiyat, Umm Salal Ali, Umm Salal Mohammad and Umm Garn. The Contract 2 Section also includes the Simaisma road link.

Contract 3 Section (Km : 37+000 – Km : 98 +200):
Contract 3 Section starts near Al Khafaij area, passing through rural areas, namely North Military Camp, Al Khaaban, Al Juthay, Fuwairit, Al Ghariya, Athba Al Shamaliyah and Madinat Al Shamal.

YAS Mall

Duqm Dry Dock

Project Description

The project is priming, showcasing the facility’s new ship repair yard. The facility was conceived as a fully integrated ship repair services hub.

The Oman Dry-dock project is being handled by a joint venture between Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering and the government. The $800 million world-class ship repair facility is scheduled to be operational by March 2011 and will have the capacity to handle anything up to 600,000-tonne oil and gas supertankers. When fully on track, the Duqm Drydock will generate an anticipated $210 million in annual revenue and employ 3,500 people by 2020.

Muscat Expressway

Oman Exhibition Center

Project Description

Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC), is being developed within an integrated convention precinct, supported by four hotels; a five star, a two star and a three star hotel, a shopping mall and a commercial business park, which will include Omantel and Omran headquarters.

It was revealed during a presentation and tour of the work site for media last week that the project is divided into two packages with the construction under way (20 per cent complete) for the exhibition centre, which is being carried out by Carillion Alawi. The exhibition hall will be spread over 22,000 sq m with the space to be divided into five halls of 4,500 sq m each. There is also a provision for parking 4,000 vehicles and its contemporary design will facilitate quick and easy exit from the venue following a big conference with an easy link to the upcoming J W Marriot Hotel.

The halls one and two will have a superior fit out. They offer specialised acoustic treatment, advanced lighting halls and rigging requirements to act as a multi-purpose space for larger plenary sessions, concerts or performances, seating up to 10,000 in a theatre style. The individual halls offer a dedicated registration desk, hospitality suites and separate offices for the orgainsers.

Salalah International Airport

Project Description

Salalah Airport, the main gateway to the Dhofar region in the south. Salalah is the second largest city in Oman and in 2011; its airport handled 513,000 passengers.

The new Salalah Airport will also be completed by 2014 and will replace the existing structure, enabling the airport to handle one million passengers annually. The terminal will have eight boarding air bridges, 10 remote aircraft stands, 25 check-in counters and four self-service kiosks, a new 4,000-metre runway and a cargo terminal to handle 100,000 tons of freight per year.

Royal Opera House

The Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) is Oman’s premier venue for musical arts and culture. The opera house is located in Shati Al-Qurm district of Muscat, Oman. Built on the royal orders of Sultan Qaboos of Oman, the Royal Opera House reflects contemporary Omani architecture, and has a capacity to accommodate maximum of 1,100 people.

The opera house complex consists of a concert theatre, auditorium, formal landscaped gardens, cultural market with retail, luxury restaurants and an art centre for musical, theatrical and operatic productions.

The ruler of Oman, Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said has been always a fan of classical music and arts. In 2001, the sultan ordered the building of an opera house. Initially called ‘House of Musical Arts’, the name ‘Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM)’ became the first in the world equipped with Radio Marconi’s multimedia interactive display seatback system, Mode23. It was officially opened on October 12, 2011.

Muscat Hills Golf & Country Club was the first grass golf course in Oman. Golf in Oman has been developing over the past 3 years, however golf was played on sand Golf Courses for a long period of time prior to Muscat Hills being developed.

Muscat Hills Golf & Country Club is located between the mountains and the sea, the club is only 5 minutes drive from the Muscat International Airport. Muscat Hills Golf and Country Club currently have a temporary clubhouse with a fully licensed bar and food and beverages available.

Project Description

Muscat International Airport (MCT) is the main gateway to Oman and the base for the national carrier, Oman Air. The airport is directly connected with 55 destinations in 27 countries and is served by 29 international airlines. MCT handled 6.3 million passengers in 2011.

A new Muscat International Airport is currently under construction and will replace the existing one on completion in 2017. With a capacity of 12 million passengers annually, the new terminal building will have 29 boarding air bridges, 10 bus-boarding lounges, 30 remote aircraft stands, 86 check-in counters and 20 self-service kiosks counters, a second runway with a length of 4,000 meters (the original runway will also be extended to 4,000 meters) and a cargo terminal to handle 260,000 tons annually
