In-Country Value (ICV) is an ambitious plan embarked by the Government of the Sultanate of Oman to boost the oil and gas industry’s contribution in the socio-economic development of the Sultanate of Oman.

ICV is defined as the total spend retained in country that benefits business development, contributes to human capability development and stimulates productivity in Oman’s economy. Through implementation of ICV, the aim is to induce economic growth and contribute to sustainable development through promoting human resource development and building/enhancing local capabilities by increased local sourcing of goods and services.

Oman Cables Industry has always been at the forefront of the implementation of In-Country Value (ICV) into the Sultanate of Oman since 1984. OCI has actively and successfully encompassed the main objectives and key considerations of ICV which was visional for Oman by the His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and the leading driver of the Oil and Gas Sector.

The Public Authority for Privatisation & Partnership (PAPP)

The Public Authority for Privatization & Partnership (PAPP), was established on the 1st of July 2019. PAPP is an independent government unit reporting to the cabinet of ministers. PAPP’s responsibilities are implementing the Tawazun Oman Programme (Partnership for development Previously), implementing the Privatisation Law, and implementing the Public-Private Partnership Law. With the objectives of encouraging the partnership between the public and private sectors, contribute to the development of the national economy, enhancement of the local added value and the diversification of the sources of income, contribute to the capacity building of the citizens, and increasing their employment opportunities, and contribute to increasing the market and competitive strength, and the development of the capital market.

Oman Cables Industry has partnered with PAPP & NAMA Group for National Youth Development Program that focus on developing employ-ability of Omani Youth which prioritizes on equipping young people with training and strategic opportunity
