Oman Cables Industry’s PVC compounding plant has completed 10 years of operation on 24th April 2016. The plant was built with largest capacity in Asia and the 5th largest worldwide at that time.

The state of the art integrated plant was supplied by world leading suppliers:

1. Buss for compounding
2. MTI- for mixing
3. Coperion and Waeschle for material handling, silos and automation

The plant started production while civil works were still being carried out around it with a team of 3 members only. First year operations resulted in production of 3,200 tons with 3 grades of PVC compounds.

The Plant has developed different grades of PVC compounds over the years:

1. Insulation
2. Sheathing
3. High temperature
4. Fire Resistance
5. Oil resistance
6. Low smoke
7. Anti-termite and rodent compounds
8. Pre-colored (Black)

Furthermore, the plant has over the years optimized its cost & performance and employed environmental friendly chemicals while maintaining high degree of safety standards. The plant achieved a major milestone in May 2014 when it crossed a total of 100,000 tons of PVC compounds production. The plant is now running with 10 dedicated staff producing high quality products. At the end of one decade, the plant has produced 138,500 tons of PVC compounds and sold 11,631 tons to external customers.

The plant is currently running at its maximum capacity and Production has achieved highest ever monthly production in April’16. OCI is very proud of its PVC team that has made all of these achievements and success in 10 years. Well Done!!
