Polysilicon Plant Project of QSTec

Project Details

ProjectPolysilicon Plant Project
End UserQatar Solar Technologies (QSTec)
PO ValueRO 10 Million
OCI productsMV,LV cables & Wires

Project Description

The plant involves the establishment of 4,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) of polysilicon manufacturing capacity. The total envisaged capacity of the plant is 8,000 TPA of high-purity solar grade polysilicon at an investment of USD 1 billion.

QSTec will produce high quality polysilicon for the world solar energy markets. Polysilicon production is at the beginning of the PV solar industry value chain and is then converted into ingots, wafers, cells, modules and then finally solar energy and solar products. QSTec’s polysilicon enables solar power and in doing so helps reduce greenhouse emissions and protect the environment for generations to come.

QSTec aim to ensure our polysilicon is of the highest quality by partnering with some of the world’s leading solar companies including:

  • SolarWorld AG
  • Centrotherm Photovolatics AG

To improve quality and reduce costs QSTec will be working with the Qatar Science and Technology Park and its network of international research institutes along with Qatar Foundation’s universities.

QSTec supply premium grade polysilicon and can fill deliveries anywhere in the world through Qatar’s advanced infrastructure network.
